Hi Fellow Cigar Enthusiasts!

It finally happened. Titan Cigar has opened!

Titan Cigar opened for business on Friday, January 19. And I must say (in my humble opinion) that the owner, Dave Williams did an A-1 job with the build-out of the store. As you walk into the store through the double-doors, you enter a walk-in humidor and sales area reminiscent of the JR Cigars, DC store. The lounge is accessible through a door at the rear of the shop.

Considering the size of the store, it has a wide selection of cigars to choose from. It is a small but well-stocked shop, and very nice in its own right. Nearly everyone who walks in should find SOMETHING to their liking. The store has not currently received every cigar that is on the website list. More will be arriving in the next several weeks. However, there are several cigars in stock that do not appear on the list.

I took some pictures on Friday and created a gallery at Cigar Weekly. You can see the pictures of the shop here:

Titan Cigar has a website, www.TitanCigar.com. On the website you will find several pages containing information to include: the cigars and accessories they sell; links to beneficial pages containing cigar-related news and information; the liquors they dispense; a list of events; and directions to the shop.

The shop is beautiful. The woodwork is gorgeous! The smell of cedar prevails when you walk into the shop. I need to take some more pictures and add them to the gallery. There are several that I thought about after I left Friday evening.

The lounge is beautiful and well ventilated, but unfortunately on the small side. Dave was limited as far as how much area he had to work with. You could fit 10-12 people comfortably. But currently there is only enough seating for 7 people at 2 bar-high tables. Dave plans to purchase another table and 3-4 more chairs. When possible Dave would like to confine the smoking to the lounge, as he would like to keep the cedar smell as prevalent as possible. If it gets too crowded, and smokers spill into the sales area, so be it. I'll suggest that he purchase some smoke eaters for the sales area.

During the 4-5 hours I was there Friday evening, I would guess that 4-5 dozen different people entered and exited the store. And this is without any form of advertising. He has yet to send an announcement to the email list. That should be coming out soon.

He still has some odds, ends and kinks to work out, but I hope to start working a few evening and weekend shifts once he has the shop running full tilt. I don't know if he is still looking for additional employees. Once he has things running smoother, I anticipate that he will have a better idea of what he needs.

If you have any questions or wish to get information about the shop, or if you would like to be added to the email list to receive notification of events, send an email to Info@TitanCigar.com. Or you can email me and I'll attempt to answer it.

Herfingly Yours,

Bryan
